Kim Scott, President
Kim Scott moved to Oregon in 1979 from Montana where she lived and attended Emmaus most of that time. She moved to Seattle in 1986 where she received her nursing degree. She had the opportunity to spend a year in Freetown, Sierra Leone and provided nursing services in various clinics. [Read more...]

Peter Kugler, Vice President
I moved to Eugene in the early sixties when my father took a call to Our Saviors Lutheran Church. I grew up in Eugene where Lori and I have been members at Our Saviors, Central and, for the last 13 years, Emmaus Lutheran. I met Lori, my wife, in 1977 while we were both working at Camp Lutherwood. We were married in 1979. We have two daughters and five grandchildren. I worked in construction for about ten years and then in Law Enforcement for thirty years. I am now retired and Lori and I are building a home in Jasper Oregon. [Read more...]

Valerie Sacks, Secretary
I moved to Oregon a little over two years ago to be near my daughter and her family. It was a perfect decision. I’m really enjoying Eugene, especially Emmaus. This is a very busy community, with people who have so many gifts to share. Right away Emmaus people reached out and included me. As council secretary, I hope to support this community in their many endeavors. (I was a jr/sr high school French/German teacher for 41 years. I’d be happy to tutor, for free. English too. I miss the kids!) [Read more...]

Kathleen Kerr, Learning
My family and I have been part of the Emmaus community for several years, and we love being part of such a warm, vibrant congregation. By day, I work as an acquisitions editor and speak at writer’s conferences around the country. [Read more...]

Lynn Kahle, Service
Although Lynn Kahle and his family came to Emmaus in 1995, his connection with the Lutheran church goes much farther back than that. His family roots in the Lutheran church can be traced back as far as the Thirty Years War according to a listing in a church near Hanover, Germany (that’s as far back as their records go)! [Read more...]

Deena Frosaker, Witness
I became a member of Emmaus over 35 years ago after moving to Eugene from Colorado. I loved raising my children in this loving and supportive congregation. Our Ministry puts the “fun” in our fellowship time together by planning events for multi-generational activities. Many of our opportunities to be together involve delicious food! I look forward to holding a leadership position on our Congregational Council again and to work closely to support the other Ministries. [Read more...]

Elva Duvall, Support
Elva Duvall and his late wife, Marlene, first started attending Emmaus about 25 years ago. Elva was born in Spokane, Washington. He came to Eugene and got a Bachelors of Arts in Ministry. However, he decided that was not his calling and preferred to work in construction. He stayed on in Eugene where he worked for 37 ½ years, having retired 25 years ago! He has three children and five grandchildren. [Read more...]

Jane Batterson, Worship
I have been a member of Emmaus for more than thirty years. I have had the privilege of serving on the Congregation Council, Worship Ministry, and a number of other committees and task forces. [Read more...]
