Profile

Clare Josef-Maier, Pastor

Growing up a Lutheran pastor’s kid, my great ambition was to become a nun. Pleasantly (as Lutheran nuns are in short supply), it turns out that serving a congregation checks all of my dream boxes: engaging beautiful liturgy and music, maturing in faithful community, and dedicating life to loving and serving in the Way of Jesus.

I am a lifelong Oregonian – born at the edge of the Pacific and raised in Blue Mountain Valley. I did venture to Washington to study: after my B.A. in Religion at Pacific Lutheran University (go, Lutes!), I headed an hour north to Seattle University for my M.A. in Pastoral Counseling. Now I am delighted to be raising my own daughter, Maeve, here in Eugene. When not at church, you’ll typically find me browsing at the library, people-watching at a cafe, or out basking in Oregon’s natural beauty!
