Women’s Circles

At Emmaus we have two women’s circles currently. Women’s circles are an opportunity for women to connect over food and work through Bible study material or simply enjoy enriching conversation. Both circles support various Emmaus projects. Emmaus ships donations to Lutheran World Relief twice a year in October and May. We participate in LWR’s Personal Care and School Kits collection. We also collect clothing for the Eugene Mission in December.

Mary Circle periodically meets in the evenings for dinner, conversation, and a time of learning in the homes of members. They use a variety of different Bible studies.

Naomi Circle meets on the third Thursday of every month at 10:00 am in the church library for Bible study, treats, and conversation. Our studies come from the Gather Magazine, which is the ELCA women’s quarterly publication. Each session begins with coffee and goodies and is followed by the study. This friendly group of ladies is open for others to join! Please come check it out. Contact Carol Lodl with questions.

Men’s Groups

Men’s Spiritual Formation Group

  • This group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 am at Emmaus in the Fellowship Hall. We enjoy a hot breakfast together and focus our discussion on how the classic traditions of Christian spirituality can inform our own lives of discipleship. Contact Pastor Andrew for more information.

Men’s Prayer Group

  • This group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 am at Emmaus in the chapel. We connect over coffee and the sharing of life concerns before praying for each other. This group provides an opportunity for regular check-in and meaningful connection. Contact Joe Cavanagh for more info.

Women of Emmaus Special Events

Emmaus Holiday Bazaar – November 8, 2025

Each year, the Women of Emmaus host a holiday bazaar, to which both women and men at Emmaus contribute with various contributions: baked goods, crafted goods, used books & puzzles, and much more.

With the proceeds of the annual Holiday Bazaar, the Women of Emmaus provide support to a number of local organizations such as Food for Lane County, WomenSpace, and Eugene Mission. They also contribute to global organizations such as Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, and Lutheran Global Health Services. In addition, the Women of Emmaus support Camp Lutherwood through direct contribution and with camping scholarships for children.

Sending Quilts to Lutheran World Relief

Other Shared Projects:

Quilting

On Wednesdays (9:00-12:00), quilts are made for Lutheran World Relief, the Eugene Mission, as gifts to our high school seniors, and to sell at the annual Holiday Bazaar. The material to make the quilts is donated and Women of Emmaus pay for the batting. Contact Deanna Berglund if you’d like to come join the fun!

“As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.”

Note:  It is a policy of the Women of the ELCA to include all women members of the congregation in its organization, so we encourage any woman interested to join a circle for Bible study, service, and fellowship!

If you are unable or choose not to attend monthly meetings you are still a member of the Women of Emmaus Lutheran Church (ELCW). Please feel free to participate in any way that fits your lifestyle.
