Emmaus is a community that is committed to sharing our resources in an effective and purposeful way. Space sharing with another congregation (Faith Avenue Church), hosting four micro shelters on our property in collaboration with Hosea Youth Services, and providing meeting space for two Narcotics Anonymous Groups and one Alcoholics Anonymous Group are a few examples of how we do this. We also are committed to facilitating members of our community sharing their financial and time resources in ways that have a meaningful impact on the wider community and the world. The support ministry leads this work on behalf of the congregation.

The Support Ministry includes finance, audit committee, stewardship, and property.  It is involved in developing stewardship programs and providing oversight of property and financial matters related to revenue and expenditures.  This team helps with budget preparation and annual inspections of real and personal property. The team determines custodial needs, provides for adequate insurance, and oversees long-range facility improvement and replacement needs for Emmaus.

In the fall the general operating spending plan for the following fiscal year is prepared and approved by the council and congregation.  In late fall we offer a pledge for the following fiscal year.

Emmaus partners with and hosts a wide variety of community-based organizations and is proud to share space with the following groups:

  • Winter Green Farm Stand
  • Eugene Concert Choir
  • 2 different NA groups
  • 3 different AA groups
  • Imagine That! Summer adventures
  • Connections Behavior Consultation
  • Community Healing Network
