Support

Arne Berglund, Congregation Council Liaison
Dave Frosaker, Treasurer

Emmaus is a community that is committed to sharing our resources in an effective and purposeful way. Space sharing with another congregation (Faith Avenue Church), hosting three micro shelters on our property in collaboration with Hosea Youth Services, and providing meeting space for two Narcotics Anonymous Groups and one Alcoholics Anonymous Group are a few examples of how we do this. We also are committed to facilitating members of our community sharing their financial and time resources in ways that have a meaningful impact on the wider community and the world. The support ministry leads this work on behalf of the congregation.

The Support Ministry includes finance, audit committee, stewardship, tech, and property.  It is involved in developing stewardship programs and providing oversight of property and financial matters related to revenue and expenditures. This team helps with budget preparation and annual inspections of real and personal property. The team determines custodial needs, provides for adequate insurance, and oversees long-range facility improvement and replacement needs for Emmaus.

The congregational budget for the upcoming fiscal year is prepared each fall and approved by the council and congregation in December.  In late fall, we offer a giving estimate for the following fiscal year.

Emmaus partners with and hosts a wide variety of community-based organizations and is proud to share space with the following groups:

~If you would like to consider renting our facilities for your event or group, please contact our main office.

Tech Raiders: The tech support team helps ensure that the website is up-to-date and functional. Talk to Pastor Andrew if you’d like to get involved.

Stewardship Committee: The stewardship committee’s mission is to encourage and facilitate the exercise of generosity and gratitude through the sharing of time, energy, expertise, and financial resources with the Emmaus community through education and storytelling. Contact Pastor Andrew with any questions!

Finance Team: The finance team oversees all operational aspects of Emmaus’ monetary gifts, expenses and reserves. The team consists of a treasurer, bookkeeper, and a group of volunteer offering counters. Questions can be directed to Dave Frosaker or Deanna Berglund.

Elva’s Raiders: Elva’s Raiders (or just Raiders, for short) are the first responders for most all facility problems or questions. This group’s volunteers perform numerous behind-the-curtain tasks to keep things running, sound and in good shape. Typical tasks will vary from simple (setting up tables for various needs, changing the sanctuary candle, etc.) to more involved (building a shed, electrical maintenance, etc.). The Raiders’ schedule varies depending on needs, but almost always includes a few hours on Wednesday mornings. For questions, comments or more info on this group, contact Arne Berglund.

Grounds Maintenance Team: This team helps Emmaus’s grounds be as beautiful and well-tended as possible! On Wednesdays, you’ll find our mowing crew out on the lawns; on Thursday, volunteers trim the trees and bushes and fine-tune the gounds. Contact Brad Bofto with any questions.
