What inspires me to serve as a pastor at Emmaus Lutheran church? For me, it’s the fervent belief that as a collective, the church has the opportunity to be a physical manifestation of God’s love in the world. It’s such a joy to partner with the good people of Emmaus to extend radical welcome to all who enter our doors!
Growing up a Lutheran pastor’s kid, my great ambition was to become a nun. Pleasantly (as Lutheran nuns are in short supply), it turns out that serving a congregation checks all of my dream boxes: engaging beautiful liturgy and music, maturing in faithful community, and dedicating life to loving and serving in the Way of Jesus.
I serve as the Office Manager, in which I provide administrative support services to our staff, members, and community.
I began directing the adult choir at Emmaus in September, 2017. I have a BA in Music from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington and an MA in Music History from the University of Oregon.
I was born and raised in Oregon and attended college first at Willamette University and then at the University of Oregon where I received my M.S. in Conflict and Dispute Resolution.
I grew up in Java, Indonesia and came to the United States in 2008. I was introduced to the Emmaus family around 2014 by my mother-in-law who thought that I would enjoy learning something about quilting and she was right! I really appreciates the warmth of the Emmaus community.
I am getting ready to start my senior year in the IHS program at Churchill high school. I’m seventeen, and I want to study art history and creative writing.
I was born in Washington in 1959. I received my Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, in 1981.
I am originally from Colorado. I moved to Oregon in 1980 to attend UO, and stayed. Married a girl from Indonesia in 2008, and we have a son together. In my spare time I read banned books and listen to unpopular music.
